The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA Bankruptcy) and is the government agency responsible for the administration and regulation of the personal insolvency system, proceeds of crime, trustee services and the administration of the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR).

An AFSA Bankruptcy Search allows online access into the National Personal Insolvency Index (NPII) for those who have public records of personal insolvencies. The Bankruptcy Search produces an AFSA extract from NPII that identifies if a person is currently or has previously been bankrupt; or if a petition has been lodged against a person to make them bankrupt.
