Client Spotlight: Impact Legal Solutions finds “bread-and-butter” software solution

Client Spotlight: Impact Legal Solutions.

In this edition of Client Spotlight, we focus on Impact Legal Solutions (ILS), Cairns, which used a conveyancing software as its “bread-and-butter” tool to achieve success in its first year in business, last year.

ILS started operating in Northern Queensland in January 2021, originally launching its practice to service commercial and property law transactions.

However, owner and Principal Solicitor, Praneel Bhela, quickly found the keys to succeed in early business stages would be from mastering conveyancing.

“I’d say the biggest eye opener, is that I never realised I’d become a conveyancing practice. The amount of people that want to use my services is 99 per cent of the time, for conveyancing,” Praneel said.

“I never expected to be introducing myself to people as a conveyancer. That’s certainly the biggest shift in my business already, considering I only had a hard launch in early-2021. It’s surprising to say the least and I never expected to do full-time conveyancing, but here we are.”

By making this early business decision to master property law matters, Praneel was able to establish the building blocks of his business’ success and drive more referrals to build his client-base.

He explained: “If someone was to say to me when I started to master conveyancing because it will be the bread and butter, I wouldn’t have believed them. But practically it’s how I showcase my value.

“And then from there, that’s how I get other work in and that’s why I’m lucky enough to have interest from other clients in other areas of law. Conveyancing has been my bread and butter, and the doorway to other areas of law from my clients. ”

Changing software, a key to recent success

Praneel used separate search and software providers for the majority of last year, and it wasn’t after transitioning into the property law purpose practice management software, triConvey, in late 2021, that he realised how much time he could have been saving in his workflow.

“If I had triConvey from day one it would have made the biggest difference in terms of understanding how to do conveyancing at its most efficient level.

“My first 12 months in business I had to get someone in to build things like templates and documents, which takes so much time. On top of that, for the first six months I was manually editing Word Documents just because I had no other option to get the work done.

“When you’re starting out, you shouldn’t be spending time developing a system. Whereas with triConvey, the systems are set up, so it makes life far easier.

“Hence, why I highly recommend triConvey for sole practitioners and anyone looking for all things conveyancing, because it makes the work easier with its automations and precedent library.”

Unlimited users essential for growth

From the recent success in the client spotlight, conveyancing specialisation, Praneel has developed a larger client-base and a reputation for his excellent service. Using this, he is planning to take on additional property law-specific employees in 2022, so he can grow into other areas of business.

For Praneel, it is having free unlimited users in triConvey that will be a crucial ingredient in his pursuit for expansion, saying:

“I would recommend triConvey for all law firms. I’m planning to enter other areas of law so I want a software and search conveyancing provider for my bread-and-butter that I know front and back and can carry out property matters in quick succession.

“When you’ve got multiple people working for you, it’s easy to have a conveyancing software that you can give to them as their own, because they don’t need access to different areas of law.

“It also simplifies what they need to know, which means the future conveyancer I want to add will have their own designated software, so they’re not having to sift through other pre-populated areas of law matters, to find their own.

“They can just open triConvey and start their workflow knowing exactly what’s there.

He added: “For me, using triConvey is the perfect initial step to set my business up for success at a bread-and-butter level, and it makes looking after my clients so much easier because I have the time to focus on them more.

“That’s why I would recommend triConvey for all law firms.”
