Important: Complete your search without interruption as any idle time in the ITSA system will cause the session to terminate. If this happens you will be required to restart and this will incur double fees which cannot be refunded.

Fees: ITSA has two different rates for searches:

  1. Browse If you only perform a browse you will be charged a "browse" fee unless a "no records found" result is returned in which case you will be charged an "extract fee"
  2. Extract If you view any extract(s) no "browse" fee will be charged but you will be charged an "extract" fee for EACH extract viewed.

The broker's fee is the same in either case.

  1. Enter your matter name, office reference and file number (if any) in this field
  2. Enter the surname to be searched in this field. A wildcard (% or *) may be used to replace one or more letters in a name
  3. Enter the given name(s) to be searched in this field. A wildcard may be used.

If you do not enter a given name all entries under the surname will be returned. Too many entries will result in you being required to refine your search i.e. be more specific.

Important Note: If only one given name is entered it is strongly recommended that it include a wildcard otherwise only entries specific to that name will be returned. Eg. Entering "Barry Smith" will return only entries under Barry Smith whereas entering "Barry % Smith" will include entries under Barry John Smith, Barry Thomas Smith etc.

Warning: The ITSA search engine is very specific eg. A search against McDonald will not return entries against MacDonald. Where names are capable of being spelt in more than one way it is recommended that a wildcard be substituted for part of those names eg. M%Donald.
